Welcome to Mystic Gypsy Surf, where we bring together a love for the ocean, adventure, and community. Founded by husband-and-wife team Sarah and Jason, we are passionate about sharing the magic of surfing and the beauty of Barbados with everyone who visits.

For the past 13 years, we have run Paddle Barbados, providing SUP lessons & tours, surf lessons, and premium equipment rentals—including stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, snorkel gear, and surfboards. We take pride in offering top-quality gear and genuine, personalized service to every guest, ensuring that your time on the water is nothing short of amazing.

We know that surfing has grown immensely among women, and we wanted to create a space where women—whether locals or visitors—can feel comfortable, safe, and supported. Our mission is to provide excellent equipment, expert guidance, and a friendly hand to help you catch your best waves. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or just starting out, we’re here to make sure you have the best experience possible.

A Love Story Rooted in Surfing

The Passionate Team Behind Mystic Gypsy Surf

Sarah’s surfing journey started right here in Barbados in 2010, when she traveled to the island for a vacation and finally fulfilled her dream of learning to surf. Little did she know that she would not only fall in love with surfing—but also with her instructor, Jason! Sarah ditched her high heels and city life for flip-flops and ocean adventures, and together, they built Paddle Barbados—a place where fun, adventure, and a love for the ocean thrive.

Sarah is your go-to guide for trip planning, local insights, surfboard deliveries, and friendly surf sessions. She’ll help you organize your stay and make sure you have everything you need to relax, explore, and ride the waves with confidence.

Jason is our lead surf instructor, a patient and highly skilled water man who has taught countless students the art of surfing, kite surfing, and paddle boarding. He carefully watches each student, tailoring his instruction to help you improve your technique, build confidence, and become the best surfer you can be.

Whether you’re here for a short stay or a longer adventure, Mystic Gypsy Surf is here to welcome you to the waves and the laid-back, sun-soaked spirit of Barbados.

Our Dover Beach Gift Shop

We’re excited to welcome you to our brand-new gift shop, just steps from the stunning Dover Beach. Located next to the beloved Cake Lady Coffee Shop and on the grounds of the Monteray Hotel, our shop is a vibrant little oasis where surf culture meets island style.

Whether you’re here to grab a board and hit the waves, book a surf lesson, or browse for the perfect souvenir, we’ve got you covered. Inside, you’ll find a fun and ever-growing selection of goodies — from stylish t-shirts and boardshorts to ukuleles, beach toys, sunblock, and surf wax. We stock beach bags and totes, snorkel gear, hats, handmade soaps, and adorable Barbados souvenirs. You’ll also find beautiful jewelry, scrunchies, hair ties, keychains, magnets, and more — with resort wear and swimsuits coming soon!
